When Pressure Builds – May 20, 2026
When Jesus went to pray at Gethsemane, He knew the struggle that was ahead of Him. He needed time with His Father, and He needed the spiritual companionship of His closest disciples. Where do you turn when pressure builds?
They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.” – Mark 14:32-34
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for showing me how to live in every season of life, including times of great pressure. Your example reminds me that when struggle comes, I can turn to the Father for help. Remind me to share my burdens with others, and help me point them to the Father in times of stress. In Your name I pray, Amen.
